Branches and Functional Line Contacts

Branch Contacts

Organizational contacts are organized by branches (departments) in a hierarchy. Branches can have different type attributes:

• Administrative Division Branch: Organized by administrative division
• Functional Line Branch: Organized by business function
• Unit Branch: Organized by unit

Browse Branches

1. View the sub-branch list under the root branch on the Contacts page
2. Tap a branch to enter and view sub-branches and members
3. The branch path displays the current hierarchy level (e.g., “Headquarters -> Branch -> Department”)

Branch Path Display

Configurable display rules for branch paths:

• Branch name or branch path + administrative division name
• Branch information display rules in group chat conversations

Functional Line Contacts

Functional line contacts are cross-department contacts organized by business function, supporting cross-branch collaboration scenarios.

Functional Line Contact Nodes

Three node types are supported:

• Directory Node: Used for organizing hierarchical structure
• Branch Node: Links to an existing branch
• Person Node: Directly links to a person

Using Functional Line Contacts

• Global search displays corresponding functional line results under the department type
• The person selector allows selecting people from functional line contacts
• Contact cards display functional line information

Visibility Rules

• Functional line contacts can have visibility rules
• Whitelists can be set (people not in the functional line can also view it)
• Functional line contact permission management is supported

The following features can be configured:

• Branch type configuration (administrative/functional/unit attributes)
• Administrative division and functional line dictionary management
• Functional line contact node creation and management (requires functional line contact management permission + main contact management permission)
• Functional line contact visibility rules and whitelist settings
• Contact display settings (branch path display rules, group chat branch information display rules)
