Group Chat
Create a Group Chat
- Tap the “+” in the top-right corner of the Messages page
- Select “Create Group Chat”
- Select the members to add
- Tap confirm to create
The maximum number of group members is configured by the organization administrator. Organizations can authorize ultra-large groups (800 to 5,000 members) and large groups (3 to 799 members).
Group Creation Approval
When creating a group, you need to fill in the group name, member count, and reason. The group is created after approval.

Group Management
Group Roles
- Group Owner: The creator of the group with the highest management privileges
- Deputy Owner: Designated by the group owner to assist with group management
- Regular Member: Participates in group chat without management privileges
The group owner can set whether only the owner and deputy owner can manage the group, pin messages, and mention all members.
Member Management
- Group owner / deputy owner can add and remove members
- Can remove members with abnormal status (frozen or deleted) in one action
- Can add members to the pinned area and reorder them
- Can create a new group from within the current group
Group Settings
- Join Approval: When enabled, new members need group owner approval to join
- Allow Group Search: Department groups excluded
- New Member History Visibility: Control whether new members can see historical messages
- Group Cloud Drive Space: Allocate cloud storage for the group
- Group Mute: Mute all members or specific members; when all are muted, speaking members can be added
Force Recall
Group owner / deputy owner can force-recall any message sent by any member at any time. Recalled messages become invisible to all group members.
Read Receipts
- View the read status of your sent group messages. Tap to view unread/read member lists and read times
- Supports one-tap mention of all unread/read members
- Groups with 200+ members do not show read receipts by default (adjustable by the operations platform)
Department Groups
A department group is a special group chat bound to a branch. When branch members change, the group membership updates automatically.
- A “Department” tag is displayed after the group name
- The group name defaults to the branch name but can be modified
- Choose whether to include members from sub-branches
- Department group administrators can remove members and add people outside the bound branch
- Removed members will no longer sync with branch changes
- Department group member limit is 3 to 500 (configured by the operations platform)
- When the bound branch is deleted, the department group becomes a regular group
In-Group Collaboration
Group Announcement
- Only the group owner and deputy owner can edit and publish
- Supports text, images, and local files (up to 10 images and files)
- Pinned in the group and notifies all members after publishing, bypassing Do Not Disturb
- Members joining later can also view the current announcement
- View historical announcements
Group Sign-Up
- Includes sign-up topic, description, and format
- Members can participate freely. The same user can participate multiple times (up to 30 entries per time)
- A single group sign-up can collect up to 1,000 entries
- Data can be exported as Excel
- The initiator can control start/stop collection
Mentions
- Mention specific members or all members
- Mentioned members receive notifications even if Do Not Disturb is enabled
- Group owner / deputy owner can disable the “mention all” permission for regular members
Group Files and Album
Quickly view all historical files and images/videos in the group. Available after switching devices or reinstalling Lansenger. New members can also view them.
In-Group Posts
On desktop, right-click a sender’s avatar; on mobile, open a member’s contact card from within the group, then select “In-Group Posts” to quickly view all of that member’s posts in the group.
Pin Group Messages
- Pin up to 5 messages simultaneously
- Tap to jump to the original message
- Pin permissions can be set to all members or only group owner / deputy owner
Large and Ultra-Large Groups
The operations platform can authorize organizations to use large groups (3 to 799 members) and ultra-large groups (800 to 5,000 members). The management platform can search existing groups and adjust member limits.
